Minor White's emphasis on the personal process to photography infused a new sense of creativity to the use of land as art.
Minor White (1908-1976) was an American photographer who shaped photographic trends between the 1930s and the 1960s. Blending the influential styles of Stieglitz, Weston, Adams, and Strand, Minor White brought the concept of using the self as a guide. He also placed an emphasis on the spiritual and metaphysical relationship between subject and photographer. In addition to his role as a teacher of photography, Minor White was the editor of the photography journal Aperture from 1952 to 1975.
